Price on Carbon revealed...April Fools Day or just another day for the Labor Government?

 According to The Australian
"AUSTRALIANS would face an $863 hike in annual household costs when a price is put on carbon pollution, new Treasury modelling predicts.Advice to Treasurer Wayne Swan reveals a $30 a tonne carbon price would lift household costs by $16.60 a week, before any compensation is offered".

Personally I would rather save $16.60 a week and invest in my own power supply such as a solar array...but clearly taking my money from me forcibly and doing the same thing but giving the benefits to other people is a better option...

Don't get me wrong, I want to stop pollution and I acknowledge that everything we do releases it, but I believe there is a better solution available than to tax everyday people (to recover from the unnecessary ZOMG GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS!! spending spree)

  4. Complex issues man. I'll be like Lincoln. "Better to remain quiet and be thought a fool, than speak out and remove all doubt."

  5. In my country there are several taxes placed on fuel so it is very expensive. Am I not the only who thinks that the many of the taxes are just a form of stealing?
