Lady Gaga and Fame Monsterism

So I read that Lady Gaga was the first person on Twitter to get 9 million followers. So typical of today though isn't it? Why do young people idolize this person? I've never hear of how she spends the proceeds of her admiration on bettering the world, what's so great about her?

I consider her a attempt at doing what the Club Kids did back in the 90's....hell, even the movie about Club Kid Michael Alig is called Party 'Monster'...not many people would know who I'm talking about though.

Her new song that has the lyrics "don't be a drag, just be a queen" irritates the hell out of me.

  1. ...And she's stealing the "monster" analogy from Sesame Street, as in she's a monster because she eats up fame...AKA cookie monster

  3. Not all young people idolize her, though no doubt the majority percentage do. I tend to avoid people like her.

  7. I like her. But I do admit, she's not exactly original. I've heard her be likened to the pop version of Marilyn Manson. Really?

  8. It's kind of a shame because it's all a fake persona and in reality she can actually sing.

  9. Her newest song sounds exactly like Madonna, at least she's done taking just her style now she's made it clear she just wants to be Madonna. Followed.

  10. First of, I kinda doubt that these people on Twitter are actually the celebrities they pretend to be. Sure they are "verified", but that just means they provided proof at some point. What's to keep them from just putting their intern or assistent in front of that twitter account and writing stuff that comes from their publicist.
Second, I don't know why they should be idiolized. Isn't it enough to just "like" them when you enjoy their music? A lot of Gagas tunes are pretty catchy. So I enjoy them but not to a rediculous degree.

  11. Is it reeeeeally a woman? Nothing like putting "Lady" infront of your name to give people that impression.
