Proof of Concept
In case someone reading this wants to steal my idea I have recorded my idea; which is:
A comedy spoof of a Black Eyed Peas song (I just can't get enough) called "I just can't get it up, with an accompanying music video of humorous nature parodying Erectile Dysfunction Advertisements.

Price on Carbon revealed...April Fools Day or just another day for the Labor Government?
According to The Australian
"AUSTRALIANS would face an $863 hike in annual household costs when a price is put on carbon pollution, new Treasury modelling predicts.Advice to Treasurer Wayne Swan reveals a $30 a tonne carbon price would lift household costs by $16.60 a week, before any compensation is offered".
Don't get me wrong, I want to stop pollution and I acknowledge that everything we do releases it, but I believe there is a better solution available than to tax everyday people (to recover from the unnecessary ZOMG GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS!! spending spree)

Thoughts on Sesame Street - Circa 2008 - Ammended
Elmo, I never liked him. He's just too f**king chirpy, boring and annoying - even as a kid I disliked the red moron. Get rid of the L in his name and you have Emo, perhaps they could change his direction after a storyline about his balls being crushed by a love interest and reallllly make him stereotypical.
Speaking of Elmo...What's the last thing tickle me Elmo's get before leaving the Sweatshop? Two test tickles
Big Bird should flip the big bird and then later refer to it as a bird brain malfunction.
Sesame Street should not have stopped at the HIV infected character; instead they should bring into the show the homeless, the disabled and disfigured, the depressed, the unemployed, the smug rich person, the athlete, the nerd, the prep, the roid rager, the gym junkie, the womanizer, the "situation", the floozy, the honest drunk, the dope peddler, the flamboyant "queen", the corrupt politician, the hard-faced police officer, the big business CEO, the chain smoker, the passive aggressive douche, 'anonymous', the preacher, etc etc
What to do with old tech :/
Over the years I have accumulated a lot of equipment for computers and A/V. I guess you could call it a hobby of mine that I like to pull components apart to see what they consist of, how they work and, to criticize, what they are lacking or how the design is flawed.
Thing that I don't pull apart I look after, hence why I still have a working original Nintendo Entertainment System.
The problem now is I'm finding that I need the room that all this old technology is taking up. Generally I will upgrade something and the older version gets put away because "it still works" and "I might need it one day".
The problem with what I have is that it's so close to obsolete that no one wants it, you can't even give it away.
I have 100+ floppy disks for instance. What can I possibly do with them? Websites on the subject suggest making an art work out of them...that's never going to happen. The only thing I can think of is harvesting the Aluminum clips off them and selling it to a scrapper, but then I'll have the useless remains; that, and the recovered metal will weigh nothing at all
Hmmpfh!
This wouldn't be so difficult if;
a) I wasn't environmentally swayed
b) I didn't know how much all these disks once cost me
I also have other old day relics - Audio cassette tapes and VHS tapes.
The local thrift shop HATES them, they get them and can't get rid of them. In Sydney stores that sell Vinyl Records must have thought VHS would be the new vinyl but for video, which seems to have backfired considering they are trying to throw them out the door at $1 each. Even eBay listings have bulk lots that struggle - Unless you are an avid collector and live close by to arrange a pick up (because postage would be astronomical) these auctions aren't really an option worth pursuing.
These bulky things are just going to take up landfill space because it's junk that you can't do anything with.
Recyclers don't even mention that they accept them...which is a bit concerning.
Cool Google logo deemed...distracting
I went to Google today to search for something...and was so taken by the logo for Robert Bunsen's 200th Birthday that I forgot what I went there to search for! D'oh!
Ah well...couldn't have been too important if I forgot...right?

Amazon dot com taking on Apple Store?
Well, wow. I don't know why I didn't see this coming, but here it is. Amazon are providing a new(?) service they offer called the "Amazon Cloud Service".
According to Amazon dot com
"How to Get Started with Cloud Drive and Cloud Player"
So you now have the option to buy an electronic file through Amazon and have them store that file for you, and it allows you to retrieve it online.
So if 1 million people bought Lady Gaga this way, would everyone get their own copy? Or just access to that file, and everyone shares it, even though you paid for a copy?
Why are Amazon investing time and money into this when the Apple Store already exists? And when services like VEVO have made YouTube less dodgy for a mainstream website. Not to mention the impact from piracy. Why would Amazon consider it a good idea to get involved with?
In other news, the Australian retail giant that kicked up a stick about online retail at the beginning of this year, Gerry Harvey, has now vowed to accept the way of the world and open his store online.
According to Amazon dot com
"How to Get Started with Cloud Drive and Cloud Player"
Step 1. Add music to Cloud Drive
Purchase a song or album from the Amazon MP3 Store and click the Save to Amazon Cloud Drive button when your purchase is complete. Your purchase will be saved for free.
Step 2. Play your music in Cloud Player for Web
Click the Launch Amazon Cloud Player button to start listening to your purchase. Add more music from your library by clicking theUpload to Cloud Drive button from the Cloud Player screen. Batlow Cider
Batlow is a town I live near in the state of New South Wales (N.S.W) in Australia. It is a great area for growing Apples. In the last few years apple imports have quite clearly had an impact on the local industry, which is really disappointing as it impacts upon the whole town.
I recently thought of an idea - Why not use the quality apples for the emerging alcoholic beverage of choice - Cider?
Well two brothers beat me to the idea.
I have confidence that this product can really succeed, and hope to see its full potential recognized and fulfilled.

Pop Click Switch
If you use Twitter, you may be aware of what "Pop Click Switch" is. It is a promoted Tweet on Twitter in the most popular trends which is headlined by a post by DELL Computer's Official US Twitter account.
It there offers a tinyurl link to a youtube video showing off a bunch of fairly standard applications for a new laptop they have released.
The thing they seem to be promoting about the device most is how "fun" and how much of an "individual" having one will make you. You see with this laptop you can...wait for it...change the plate behind the laptops screen...you know the top part when the laptop is closed. Yes with this if you don't like a plain black casing you can add a new one with pretty colors and patterns.
Hey DELL, why don't you spend time and resources on creating something of importance rather than gimmicks like this? I'm no marketer and novelties like this might sell, but how about manufacturing something that computer users will really get something out of rather than making the laptop a fashion accessory for people that want to look like computer users?

Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant - Fire Risk
Source: http://af.reuters.com/article/energyOilNews/idAFN2821423920110328
What I find infuriating is the company disputes that the number of fire risks that the State have identified. Didn't the B.P explosion and spill occur because they were so arrogant, cheap, unconcerned and not educated?
And now we have a company trying to say their Nuclear facility is fine?
Let me ask you, would this fly if it was in a foreign country in the Middle East, North Korea or somewhere else North America didn't like?
Why isn't this plastered all over the news? I mean look what happened in Japan, people are scared about this sort of thing, people expect these facilities to be safe.
This facility is said to supply New York with 30% of it's electricity, you can't tell me they can't afford to put in fire control measures that government have deemed necessary. I can't believe they are arguing! And the facility is nearly 40 years old.
Do as you're told and bring the place up to code...don't they understand there would be penalties for non-compliance. Stop trying to bully the government big business, we don't want you to kill us you know.

Lady Gaga and Fame Monsterism
So I read that Lady Gaga was the first person on Twitter to get 9 million followers. So typical of today though isn't it? Why do young people idolize this person? I've never hear of how she spends the proceeds of her admiration on bettering the world, what's so great about her?
I consider her a attempt at doing what the Club Kids did back in the 90's....hell, even the movie about Club Kid Michael Alig is called Party 'Monster'...not many people would know who I'm talking about though.
Her new song that has the lyrics "don't be a drag, just be a queen" irritates the hell out of me.

20c to tell a company that they suck, 10c to "like" something on Facebook
I do a few jobs online to try to make an extra buck or two, like online surveys sites...recently I got a survey to do, it was obvious who the company was (or who they wanted you to think of) that was conducting the survey. I answered honestly and it spelled out a major gripe I have with them - Their online service was lousy and a certain policy of theirs is utter crap...they are probably forced to by law to have it in place though.
Then I got an offer, 10c to "like" something on Facebook and "like" it for at least 1 month. That's right, it'll cost a whole 1/3 of one cent per day for me to "like" something.
It's not all bad though, I mean the site is legit and I have received payments twice before - It's just that it initially took a long time, now it seems almost steady income...low income, but a nice bonus every once in awhile.
